Tara is away this weekend after getting a last minute call from her yoga friends/teachers to see if she wanted a spot at a yoga seminar in St. Andrews! From what I hear, she is having a great time, and I will let her post about it later :)
I wandered about downtown all day and had an excellent dinner at a "gourmet" burger restaurant in the Merchant City called Ad Lib. We are packing up on Monday and leaving our babies for a week when we visit my parents in Truckee, CA. We are helping crew my dad as he runs 100 miles (crazy?) in the Western States 100. We are debating taking a trip to a few countries in Europe at the beginning of July rather than stay in the UK (Wimbledon anyone?) and enjoy our short time left. Tara is leaving at the end of July, followed closely by the cats, and then myself :)
Back to Dallas we go....in a way it's exciting, but honestly, I'm quite sad. I love it here in Scotland. Sure we have had our complaints, but overall, I love it here. I will miss the walking (even though I don't like it), and I will miss trekking home in the rain while eating overly salted chips and brown sauce. Glasgow is such a vibrant city with a lot to see and do. Most of all, I think I will miss that Scotland is mine and Tara's. Not literally of course, but since very early on in our relationship (2001), this has been our place in the world. I've definitely felt privileged to have lived here for the past year, though it hardly seems like a year.
Not time to get sad yet. There is lots more to see before we go :)
